INITIATIVES

Every year, TCT employees are encouraged to suggest ideas on social innovation projects in order to raise awareness on community care. The ideas are submitted to CSR committee who are in charge of selecting the best one and launching or supporting the related actions. Their successful stories are shared on the current page.

PARTNERSHIP

FOR CHILDREN WITH DUCHENNE MUSCULAR DISTROPHY

Since 2017, TCT started a partnership with the french charity association “Pour La Vie” which realizes the dreams of children suffering with Duchenne Muscular Distrophy, an incurable disease. In June 2017, the company donated more than 6,000 fresh products from its stock (smartphones, basic mobile phones, connectivity devices) to the association. This donation has already contributed in realizing the greatest dream of two children in 2017. See the actions. A specific action 100% sponsored by TCT is planned for 2018. The association “Pour la vie” collects used or unused mobile phones in order to realize the dreams of unwell children.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

CHALLENGE

In May 2017, the TCT’ employees were invited to calculate their carbon footprint from home to work. The objective? To increase the awareness about the Climate change issue and to encourage the personal and corporate initiatives for carbon footprint reduction.
80% of EU employees have participated in the challenge. 42% of TCT employees interviewed recognize that they have been shocked by the result of their carbon footprint calculation. 20% of them claim that they will be using the alternative modes of transport (walk, bicycle…) in future. Since Jan 2017, TCT sponsors the employees who use the bicycle to commute from home to work.

678 TREES PLANTED

BY TCT EU

As part of the European week of sustainability, from May 30th to June 05th 2017, TCT EU and its employees sponsored 678 trees in France, Senegal, Peru and Haiti, with the partner ResforestAction !

SUPPORT

THE ARTISTS

Thanks to a suggestion coming from TCT’s Italian employees, TCT donated more than 1,000 used phones to the MAXXI Museum in Italy in 2015. These phones were used by the famous Architect Zaha Zadig to build a statue : Yin and Yang. The theme of this statue matches with TCT’s message which promotes the equilibria between real life and smartphone usage.

THE BIRTH REGISTRATIONWITH MOBILE PHONES

Without birth registration, there will be no rights! Recognizing this, TCL Alcatel has co-financed with our partner ORANGE, the project of the association Aide & Action for birth registration via the mobile phone.

SOLIDARITY

Every year, TCT helps an association through recycling solidarity action.

2016 actions
Doctors without borders From 04 to 08 July 2016, for every phone collected during a recycling action in Europe, TCL Communication donates 1 Euro to Doctors without borders. A donation of around 9,190 RMB was made. Through this campaign, we aim to promote recycling and recovery of mobile phones, and to increase awareness about this association.

2017 actions
ESAT AVENIR From April to May 2017, TCT organized a spring cleaning action for collecting the used mobile phones. This year, TCT focused on the associations for the Disabled people. We chose the company ESAT AVENIR . ESAT is a very specific French social and medical structure that provides professional activities for both mentally and physically disabled people who can’t work in ordinary companies.

FOUNDATION

In China, with TCL foundation , TCT donates to various charitable organizations in China to provide financial assistance to underprivileged families and students. SCHOOL: In early 2015, the Group formed “Sunshine Angels”, with 24 TCL Sunshine Angels and volunteers paying visits to Ping’an Central Elementary School in Boluo County, China. The team brought learning tools and played with over 60 orphaned children. TREES: In March 2015, TCL foundation, together with Kone electronic, launched the operation ‘Planting trees for the future’ in Huizhou. More than 300 volunteers from TCT have participated in this operation. AUTISM: In April 2016, a large public event has been organized by TCT foundation in order to help people to better understand the issues related with autism, and better accept the autistics and their family.
